Working the open items
Every workbook comes with Open Items: what's missing, what doesn't tie, and what needs a decision. Give each one a disposition:
- Pass: you've looked at it and it's fine as is.
- Include in PBC: it's a question or a document request for the client; it goes into the client email.
- Add question or comment: your answer or instruction (for example, "basis is $11,150 per the estate letter").
- Attach file: a document that resolves it.
When every item is addressed, press Reprocess. The workbook is updated with your answers, the Open Items are rebuilt, and the client email is drafted for whatever is still with the client.
Rounds. {r['rounds_para']}
It pays to batch anyway. One round that takes in six documents does the work of six rounds that take one each. If a client is sending things in dribs and drabs, let them collect and reprocess once.
Documents added later can change the tier. Your price follows the whole engagement, not the first upload. Everything received is counted — including documents you add after the workbook is built — so sending a few now and the rest later doesn't hold the cheaper tier. If what arrives later moves the engagement into a higher tier, you're shown the difference and approve it before that round runs. Nothing is charged without you confirming the amount first.
